Future Group launches direct selling platform Big Bazaar Direct
04 Sep 2013

Retail major, Future Group’s founder Kishore Biyani has launched Big Bazaar Direct, a direct selling platform under which company appointed franchisees will visit customers to take orders via tablets and the products would be delivered in three to seven days.

Customers will receive a confirmation SMS and they have to make payments to franchisees. Franchisees will earn on each order and Big Bazaar will take care of supplying orders. The group launched the project as pilot three weeks ago in Nagpur and is looking to take it national in the next two months.

What is baffling us that why customers will wait for three to seven days instead of picking up products nearby kirana store or online grocery stores some of which also promise same day delivery. However, a report in Business Standard states that Future Group eventually plans to bring down the delivery period to  24-hour in cities such as Mumbai and 48 hours in smaller cities.

The company, however, seems bullish on the model and aims to have 100,000 franchisees within the next two years, sources in the group said.
