Raj Menon, who had spent over 12 years at 2win group where his last postion was Director, Business at Games2win, has joined StepOut.com (erstwhile Ignighter.com), as Chief Operating Officer. StepOut is a a group dating site based in NYC, aimed at changing the way that young people in India go out and meet new people. Menon joined the StepOut team September 2012. Raj Menon confirmed the move to India Digital Review and informed that he still owns his stakes in 2Win Group.

Before Games2win, Menon was COO of Contest2Win which was also named among the top digital agencies in India by Brand Equity, Economic Times. In his LinkedIn bio, Menon writes “I was a part of core team that incubated and set up several group companies such as Mobile2win, Media2win, Koimoi.com and Games2win. I was also responsible for the transition of contests2win.com, one of the most recognized online brands to a UGC (User Genearated Content) site.”

Menon has over 13 years of experience in the Indian online industry. Menon joined Contest2Win in 200, prior to which he was associated with AC Nielsen.

Ignighter entered India in early 2011 and rebranded to StepOut in January 2012, and claims to have over 4 million users in India. In June 2011 Ignighter.com had appointed Tarun Davda as its VP and Country Head for India, who seems to have left the company to join Matrix Partners as Early Stage Venture Capitalist.

In February 2011, Ignighter had raised $3 million in Series A funding led by Point Judith Capital with GSA Venture Partners, Founder Collective, GTI Capital Group, Hugo Enterprises, Rajan Anandan, David Cohen, Dave Tisch, Kal Vepuri, Peter Lehrman, Nihal Mehta and other angels participating. In October 2008, Ignighter.com had closed $1.2 million angel funding round.

Update: Steopout has issued a press release informing the appointment of Umesh Choori as VP Marketing and Analytics. Umesh was most recently Director of Business Analytics at Web.com responsible for driving new business through analytics.
